Dmitry Gishpling-Chernov is a Moscow native  tenor, who lives now in Berlin. 

 

His repertoire includes mostly Italian, Russian, French and German romantic tenor roles, as well as Italian, Neapolitan and Russian folk and art songs.

 

Dmitry began his vocal studies with Maestro Sergey Spiridonov of the P.I.Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory in 2007, graduating the Jerusalem Music Conservatory as a pianist and composer before.  After performing his first concerts in Moscow, Leipzig and Jerusalem, Dmitry moved to Berlin. Since 2010 he studied with Prof. Perrin Manzer-Allen , Prof. Helmut Wiese and Prof. Giuseppe Pastorello (in Caltanisetta, Sicily). Among his teachers were also Maestro Michael Austin, Maestro Mikhail Svetlov (New York City), Maestra Anna Schafajinskaja and Maestro Jack Li Vigni.

Dmitry's opera debut was in July 2011 as Aubry in Marschner's "Der Vampyr" in Berlin, later he performed this role in Stettin Art Festival, Poland. In 2011 Dmitry performed in Komische Oper Berlin in Schubert's "Die Verschworenen". In 2012 / 2015 Dmitry sang as a Tenor-soloist with the "Schma Kolenu" choir in Munich, and later appeared as Vodemount in Tchaikovsky's "Iolanta" in the theater Ballhaus-Ost in Berlin. In December 2012 Dmitry sang opera arias and duets by Verdi and Puccini in a gala concert, organized by the Israeli embassy in Frankfurt am Main.

Dmitry's USA debut was in March 2013 as Almiro in New Opera NYC production of "Armida" at the "Academy of Music" theater , MA. 

In May 2014 Dmitry sang on the opening gala concert of the Italian Art Naples World festival, Naples, Florida, as well as the role of Vodemount in New Opera NYC production of "Iolanta" in Teatro del Museo del Barrio, New York. In April 2016 Dmitry made his West Coast debut as Price Shuyskiy and Dimitry the pretender in "Boris Godunov" production in Cowell theater, San Francisco and on spring 2017 continued in NYC as Prince Gvidon and the Astrologer in the new production of N.Rimsky-Korsakov's "The Golden Cockerel".

In april 2018 Dmitry released his first  classical crossover single and music video "In the country I love" from the upcoming album of old Israeli songs in new arrangements, bringing the classical crossover style to the Israeli music scene. 

The single received very positive reviews in the press and is now playing in a number of radio stations.  

In 2022 Dmitry debuted in the Berliner Dom (the main Cathedral of Germany) with "Domine Deus" (G.Rossini) and "God with us!" (P.Chesnokov).

During Covid pandemic Dmitry initicated the "Vocal Tips" online singing educating and masterclass project and actively developing a successful teaching career parallel to performing activity.
